Sports & overuse.
Runners' knees, climbers' elbows, shoulders that grumble after pool time — treatment plus workload sense, with training kept alive.
GB34 · Typically 4–8 visits
What it tends to involve
Repetition finds the weak link: the knee at mile eight, the elbow on the hangboard, the shoulder after swim sets. Rest alone rarely fixes these, because the load that built them returns the moment training resumes.
Elena leads this work as a former college rower. Assessment maps the irritated tissue and the training error feeding it; both get treated, because needling without load management just schedules the relapse.
Sessions & course
What sessions look like
Needles go around the injury, never forcefully into it, with points above and below the joint — GB34 by the knee is the sinew classic. Workouts continue in modified form through most courses rather than stopping outright.
Four to eight sessions is the common span, with return-to-sport markers set down in writing. Milestones decide the next step: advance the load when they are met, hold when they are not.
- Tendons, joints and repetition strain
- Workouts modified, seldom paused
